Debbie Hughes & Laura White founded Miss Pageant Queen in 2020 and Debbie now holds the role of Pageant Director.
Both ladies are extremely passionate about pageantry and after over 30 years each in the industry are thrilled to present a system for all levels for contestants who will enjoy a spectacular pageant experience during a glamorous Grand Final event held each year in September. Their experience between them will give you as a contestant the confidence to take to a pageant stage and shine. They have both competed for many years with great success most recently in 2024 Debbie won the prestigious title of Ms Great Britan Classic 2024/25. They have helped many contestants, including their own daughters, to take to various pageant stages with confidence and great success. Heidi (Debbie's daughter) held the title of Miss Midlands UK and Erin (Laura's daughter) held the title of Miss Jr Teen Great Britain and went on to appear in the BBC TV reality show Heartbreak Holiday!
Erin and Heidi are on hand to assist their mums and to offer support to the contestants in anyway they can.
Laura White has over 30 years’ experience in the beauty pageant industry since winning her first title in 1986 and has recently been awarded a National Pageant Lifetime Achievement Award.
During her time competing between 1986-1992 She has won numerous local and national titles including:
Miss Llanelli, Miss Dyfed, Miss Penarth, Miss Brains, Miss Jacksons, Miss Lovely Legs.
And her comeback in 2021 saw her take the place of 1st Runner up at the first ever Ms Great Britain Classic 2021
Laura qualified twice for the BBC live televised final of Miss United Kingdom before scooping the Miss Great Britain Wales title and Welsh Model of the Year in 1989. She has also competed internationally at the Miss International Tourism 1991 and at the Mrs. Europe 1992 where she won the Mrs. Swimsuit title.!
Laura took a break from pageants to raise her family and complete an Honors Degree in Education and studied a postgraduate Masters Diploma in Social Work whilst working in primary schools and special educational settings, and then returned to the pageant community as the proud Queen Mother of
Erin White - Miss Junior Teen Great Britain 16/17.
Laura writes for a national pageant magazine, a pageant blog, has appeared in The Daily Mail for a feature about how to stay looking fabulous over 50 and is an experienced and respected pageant judge., she is an active fundraiser and advocate for charities close to her heart.
Laura and Erin's charity of choice is Epilepsy Action.
Debbie Hughes was also a teen pageant girl herself back in the 80's competing at the Miss England heats in Staffordshire and modelled on the catwalk for Italian designer Benetton for a number of years. She came back to the stage after over 30 years to also take part in the first ever Ms Great Britain Classic and went on to be crowned Ms Great Britain Classic 2024/25. She has enjoyed a successful career in local radio for many years after competing for the title of Miss Signal Radio back in 1986 and subsequently being interviewed live on radio. She went on to sit in on interviews with many celebrities including Olly Murs, Take That, Will Young, 5SOS to name but a few, and worked on many high profile events. Her pageant journey now includes supporting her daughter Heidi Leake who competed for 3 years at Miss Teen Great Britain and running her business The Prom Dressing Room www.promdressingroom.co.uk
In her spare time Debbie is an NHS volunteer, teen mentor and ambassador for a Staffordshire based charity called The Peter Pan Centre and an Open Water Swimmer! She has sponsored many pageant contestants over the past 10 years through her business The Prom Dressing Room. She has previously co founded 2 local charity pageants which jointly raised over £40,000 for charity during their 3 years! She loves to support contestants through their own journeys and helps in any way she can with their individual appearances and fundraisers. Debbie is also the founder and event director of the National Pageant Industry Awards.
Debbie's charity is The Peter Pan Centre and Caudwell Children's Charity
